About Our Instructor
Randy Streufert has been photographing wildlife in northern Virginia since 1973 when he moved to this area from California. His photographs have appeared three times on the cover and once on the back cover of Virginia Wildlife magazine. He was the grand prize winner in the 2019 National Wildlife Federation Gardening for Wildlife photography contest. Many of his photographs are on display at the Mason Neck State Park visitor center.
He is a founding member of the Friends of Mason Neck State Park and currently serving as Treasurer. He is a long-time member of Cranford United Methodist Church in Lorton, and volunteers with the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck and Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuges.
Like 18th century naturalists, his knowledge of the wildlife native to northern Virginia is based on many hours of observation rather than any formal education or training.
This program is FREE.
