Northern Virginia Bird Alliance 2026 Symposium

It was wonderful to gather with so many people committed to protecting birds and urban nature across Northern Virginia at this year’s symposium.

The Symposium gave us an opportunity to share ideas, hear about innovative approaches, and connect with others working on similar efforts. Now comes the next step—turning those conversations into action in our local communities.

To help continue those connections, we are sharing the Collaboration Map that participants began building during the event. We encourage you to explore the projects and organizations listed there and reach out directly to others who may be working on related efforts and add new collaboration opportunities as they present themselves. The strength of our region’s conservation work comes from collaboration.

We would also appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete the symposium evaluation. Your feedback will help us improve future events. And please check our calendar for upcoming programs, bird outings, and volunteer opportunities.

Spring migration is just around the corner, and we look forward to seeing many of you in the field. We will continue sharing updates and opportunities in the coming weeks!
