Do you want to learn how to identify the birds that flock to your backyard everyday? Or maybe you’re preparing for our annual spring fundraiser, Birdathon. Join this online course to brush up on your bird identification skills with NVBA Vice President, Andreas Seiter! During this program, your instructor will:
Review common backyard bird species you’re likely to see year-round.
Discuss migratory species that might pass through your yard this spring.
Showcase birding tools: from eBird to field guides to binoculars.
Instruct birders on how to use eBird to report birds you observe.
This program is designed for beginner birders but can also serve as a helpful refresher for more experienced birders. Please note that all registered participants will receive the class recording afterwards, so participation on the day is not mandatory.
NVBA’s virtual programs help raise funds to support our mission. If cost is a barrier to your participation, please contact NVBA’s Community Engagement Coordinator, McKenzie, at mckenzie@nvbirdalliance.org to inquire about possible accommodations.
About the Speaker
Andreas Seiter, Vice President of NVBA’s Board of Directors, brings extensive experience in marketing and corporate communications to our organization. He's completed the Fairfax Master Naturalist training, which opened his eyes to the importance of seeing the connections between the easily visible elements of nature and those that are invisible or easily overlooked, but necessary to a healthy ecosystem. His work with NVBA spans educational programs, outreach, organizational development, recruitment, and fundraising. During his bird walks, Andreas encourages participants to observe their surroundings closely as a way to inspire greater appreciation and stewardship for the natural environments we all share.
