Join NVBA for our first Quarterly Bird Guide Meetup & Training Day of 2026!

This meetup is designed to connect current volunteer bird guides and apsiring guides. New guides will be required to watch NVBA's bird guide video training prior to the in-person program.

We'll align on shared goals for 2026, work to set up recurring bird outings at partnership parks, and if there's time practice some guiding skills. We will also try to partner incoming guides with experienced ones at this meetup.

NVBA Bird Guide Requirements

NVBA is expanding the variety of birding experiences we offer. Looking forward, we hope to provide everything from traditional walks to bird sits, field trips, and more!

To become an NVBA Bird Guide, you simply need to:

  1. Be interested in birding, and

  2. Enjoy leading inclusive, enjoyable experiences that inspire others to learn about and appreciate birds.

NVBA serves a wonderfully diverse birding community, and we hope our team of guides will reflect that same diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Thank you for helping us grow our birding community and inspire others to connect with nature!

Attendance at this training sessions is required to become a certified NVBA Bird Guide. Upon completion, guides agree to support at least one NVBA bird outing per quarter.

If you’re unable to attend this year but would like to be notified about the next training opportunity, please email McKenzie, NVBA’s Community Engagement Coordinator, at mckenzie@nvbirdalliance.org. Any questions may also be referred to McKenzie.
