Join us for a special virtual viewing of The Last Osprey, a film directed, produced and written by William McKeever. This powerful film explores the alarming decline of ospreys in the Chesapeake Bay and the ecological forces driving it. Through compelling storytelling and on‑the‑ground reporting, The Last Osprey examines changes in prey availability, pressures on menhaden populations, and broader shifts in the Bay’s ecosystem. It also follows residents, scientists, and advocates as they confront what the loss of these iconic birds could mean for local communities and the health of the Bay.

About the Speakers
William Mckeever is an author and filmmaker devoted to raising awareness about key threats to America's oceans. He is currently filming The Last Osprey, Episode 2. Episode One won Best Cinematography for a short documentary from the New York Film Awards Group. His films can be seen on his non-profit website, www.safeguardtheseas.org and on www.redcoraluniverse.com. His new book, Return of the Mako, was recently published and is available on Amazon. The novel is inspired by a true story involving a shark, a murder and solving the crime.
Roberta Kellam is the president of Birding Eastern Shore Inc. located on the rural Eastern Shore of Virginia which is experiencing drastic Osprey nest failures.
Debbie Campbell is the founder and editor of Menhaden - Little Fish, Big Deal, which is one of the largest and most active public groups devoted to menhaden conservation and discussion. The publication is frequently referenced by conservation organizations and podcasts.
