Migration season is in full swing, which means Birdathon is, too. It's our favorite time of year — grab your binoculars, head outside, and turn your bird sightings into support for local conservation.
Birdathon is NVBA's annual fundraising event, and it's one of the best ways to connect with the birding community while making a real difference for the species we love. Participants spend time birding — however much or little they like — and raise funds through pledges from friends, family, and colleagues. It's part community challenge, part celebration of spring migration, and entirely for the birds.
No matter your skill level, you belong in Birdathon. Go big with a full day of field birding or keep it casual with a backyard count. You can fly solo or round up a team. Set your own fundraising goal and go at your own pace — every dollar counts toward our $20,000 community target and directly supports NVBA's education programs, habitat work, and advocacy for birds across northern Virginia.
Sign up today and spend it doing what you love, for a cause worth counting.
